About Lumineus

Lumineus is situated in the AV-house in Breda, a building full of filmmakers, designers and related companies. The AV-house is just a part of our large network of professionals. For each production we choose the right partners, who all work out of the same passion and professionality as we do.

Jeroen Neus (Utrecht 1964) studied Audiovisual Design at the St. Joost Academy in Breda. After his studies he started working as an independant filmdirector and producer and he founded Lumineus Filmproductions. He made short documentaries for the Dutch broadcastcompany VPRO and several series for Omroep Brabant.
In 2004 he won the yearly Toonbeeld price for his fake documentary Het blik van Wallsteijn.

Characteristic for his work is his interest for people's authentiicity or the lack of it.. His films have often an ironic tone. Apart of his free work, he also makes films under commission, out of the same fascination for human behaviour. He knows well how to translate complex matters into an accessible film. In his documentaries he knows how to touch and motivate the audience.

Carine van Vugt (Heusden 1956) studied art at the Academy for Visual Arts in Tilburg. Until 2007 she worked mainly as designer and composer of exhibits for several musea and religious organizations. One of her first projects was a successful exhibition on the history of cryptography for the Scryption museum in Tilburg. Many different topics followed. For Steyl, a monastery village, she designed a plan to show the special heritage in many forms and layers throughout the village and the landscape.

During the last years, film has become more and more her language. In 2009 she merged her company withLumineus Filmproductions, which since then changed it's name into 'Luminous'. A recurring theme in her work is how she can be touched by human (in)capacity.

Carine and Jeroen are the driving force behind Stichting Verhalis for which they film life stories.

Roos Breukel (Delft 1976) studied Educative Media in The Hague. She works as cameraman and executive producer for Lumineus.
